I just read some disturbing news. Apparently the Episcopal priest who married us is facing disciplinary action from her bishop stemming from her opposition to his (our bishop's) vote in favor of acceptance of the gay bishop of New Hampshire.
How exactly does/can a divorced woman, who prior to the mid-1970s wouldn't even be allowed to be a priest because of her gender, oppose a bishop duly elected by the people in his diocese, which is several hundred miles from here?
Everybody is entitled to an opinion, especially on a deeply personal such as religion, but I feel a little weirded out that the woman who married us is in trouble with her boss. Does this blog make me look fat? Link Me |
