I watched the second installment of Manor House tonight.
All was not well.
The butler wasn't feeling appreciated by his boss. The lower workers were in near revolt because of some tattling by their supervisors, a dressing down and elimination of a much-anticipated reward.
An on-the-job romance bloomed, and people gossiped.
The "management" (manor owners) remained largely clueless about the problems downstairs and complained about not having enough time between social engagements to cultivate their own internal relationships.
Man, this is definitely seeming a lot like a modern office.
